Exploring the power of business intelligence

In modern times business houses are expected to be fast paced and dynamic. The key to succeed is to adopt and apply the right strategies. Strategies need to be backed up with reports based on real time data. And in order to formulate these strategies we need access to systematic data.

However in the age of Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Heuristics traditional businesses find it difficult to keep up.  It is very important to use the right tools to organize data.  The core question that begs an answer is “What tangible business value can we derive from the data?” To answer all this questions we organized association with SVGA on the use and application of the software ‘Power BI’.

Microsoft Power BI, in particular, is the total of choice for many business houses. It’s a software that helps process Big data and create customized reports with ease.

The seminar was held at Pupil’s school, Khar west and was presented by the two esteemed speakers Ramas Krishnan  and CA Mitesh Katira on 9th June 2019.

Mr Ramas Krishanan is the Founder and Managing director, Aspire Infinite and The Alternate Board having an experience of 25 years. He was an early participant in the Indian IT revolution with an with an Indian multi-national and contributed to building the implementation, channel development and Global business development initiatives of the company. On his return to India, he trained as a TOC expert and led the supply chain consulting practice of a multinational major, before starting his new career as an entrepreneur. He is passionate on driving a larger role in India’s OMB space and therein contributing to a strong social and economic impact. He is best known for carrying his client’s well-being and interests at all times – a de-facto friend for life and mentor to all those who know him.

CA Mitesh Katira is qualified Chartered Accountant with an experience of 16 years into Internal Audits, Forensic Audits, Business Intelligence and other such aspects of management interest.Mitesh has been travelling to KSA, UAE, Bahrain, Malaysia, China, Thailand for development of overseas practice into Business Intelligence, Accounts Outsourcing, GCC VAT, etc. With his passion for Information Technology, Mitesh has been speaking and sharing knowledge about the Power Bi, Business Intelligence, Forensic Accounting in seminars, workshops through professional and trade bodies. Mitesh has been writing articles about varied topics in reputed journals.

In the seminar they covered the Concept of Business Intelligence with the help of a few case studies which was followed by an introduction to Power BI & it’s components. Topics like consuming and transforming data by using Power BI Desktop and modeling and visualizing data were covered. They also shared insights on creating and optimizing data models.  The seminar was attended by 200+ participants including business owners, professionals and students.
